New Exam System Explained
This year marked a major change in West Bengal’s education system:
Semesters 1 & 3: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on OMR sheets
Semesters 2 & 4: Short answer and essay-type questions
“We scanned over 38 lakh OMR sheets for these results,” revealed a board official. “Despite festival holidays, we managed to declare results before October 31.”
Girl Power in Numbers
Girls formed 56.03% of total candidates (about 3.7 lakh students). Their strong participation continues Bengal’s trend of closing the gender gap in education.
Previous Year Comparison
Last year’s annual system saw 90.79% pass percentage with 4.73 lakh candidates. The shift to semester format has shown improved results despite larger student numbers.
East Midnapore district had topped in 2025 results. Will they maintain their position this year? The detailed district-wise analysis is expected soon.
